Patrick Mahomes has worried Kansas City Chiefs fans after he did a hot lap at Silverstone Circuit, a motor-racing circuit in England that is the home of the British Grand Prix.

Mahomes is credited with leading the Chiefs to back-to-back titles at Super Bowls 57 and 58. They are the first team to do so since the New England Patriots accomplished this goal in Super Bowls 38 and 39. Mahomes has received a variety of accolades in his career and is thought to be the best quarterback in the NFL, which is why many people consider him "precious cargo."

In the video uploaded to his Instagram account, the quarterback was visiting the BWT Alpine F1 Team. During one portion of the clip, he was sitting in the passenger seat of a car as it did a lap around the circuit. "That is freakin' insane man," Mahomes said while in the vehicle.

Once he was out of the vehicle, the football player said he understood why race-car drivers enjoy doing the work they do: "Dude, that was insane; insane. I see why they do that. That's addicting right there."

While Mahomes clearly enjoyed himself, his fans have expressed their concerns over the video.

Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for the Chiefs for comment on Wednesday.

"Don't do that; we need you at Arrowhead [Stadium, home of the Chiefs in Kansas City, Missouri] safe and sound!" one person commented.

"Excuse me, shouldn't you be wrapped in bubble wrap ??" another asked.

"Don't do that again....you are a national treasure!!" a third person wrote, while a fourth commented: "Nice , don't do this again tho !"

A fifth Instagram user added: "Be Safe!!! Precious Cargo to the Chiefs & Kansas City."

Mahomes seems to be making the most of his time off before the Chiefs start training camp on July 23. It will run until August 17, with only six days off in that period.

Mahomes and his family, wife Brittany Mahomes, and children Sterling and Bronze, recently went on holiday to Spain. Brittany Mahomes uploaded a carousel Instagram post on June 27 of the four of them posing on a beach.

The carousel also included snapshots from a day at the zoo, and a cute photo of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and Sterling in matching floral-print swimsuits. Another close-up shot showed Bronze playing in the sand.

The couple were also spotted at the Mavericks' playoff game on May 26, with the crowd cheering for the two of them when they appeared on the Jumbotron.
