There's a specific line in Pat Sajak's bio on X (formerly known as Twitter) that viewers have had an issue with for years.
Sajak has recently dominated headlines after leaving Wheel of Fortune last month after helming the iconic game show since 1981. Earlier this week, the Wheel mainstay left fans stunned — and trolling — after it was announced that he'll return to host Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in October for one final spin.
With all of the renewed attention on Sajak, people have been flocking to his social media accounts, particularly after his final episode of Wheel of Fortune aired on June 7.
it was that same day that one fan called him out on his bio, which reads: "Game show host, icon, former sexagenarian. Gated community activist. Him/he/you guys."
"Looking at his bio what the hell is a gated community activist," they questioned.
It's been a comment that X users have been skeptical — and angry — about for years.
"So I shouldn't drag Pat Sajak for putting 'gated community activist' in his bio?" someone asked in September 2022.
"'Gated community activist.'" Yeah, OK. Go buy a vowel, Pat," another person said that same month.
People were angry about it even as far back as 2020.
"So, @patsajak calls himself a 'gated community activist,'" a fourth person tweeted. "Sorry Pat, You Lose A Turn."
While it is unclear if the "gated community activist" line is serious or was made in jest — Sajak is known for his deadpan sense of humor — the longtime ABC personality does live in a luxurious home in Encino, California.
According to Hello! magazine, Sajak lives in a six-bedroom, six-bathroom house secluded on top of a hill. The home, which he reportedly purchased in 1988, is supposedly worth $5.5 million. The Sajak family — the game show host is married to wife Lesly Brown, with whom he shares son Patrick and daughter Maggie — also has a home in Maryland, according to the outlet.
