Blake Lively just recreated an iconic moment in fashion history.
The Gossip Girl alum wore a Self-Portrait denim minidress covered in rhinestones and a denim Dries Van Noten trench coat in a series of photos she shared to Instagram on Saturday, July 14. She accessorized the look with a small, denim Chanel purse, Gucci shoes, and jewelry by Beverly Hills Unicorn.
Lively was smiling wide in the photo she shared, captioning it, "You say Canadian Prom Dress, I say It's Britney B***h👖👖👖," referring to the memorable Kurt and Bart patchwork denim dress Spears wore to the American Music Awards in 2001. At the time, she also accessorized with a little denim purse.
"Happy belated birthday to @brandonsklenar We had so much fun celebrating with all the @itendswithusmovie cast who was in town. :(," Lively continued. She also thanked her friend for letting her play stylist, writing, "@isabela.ferrer making my 'My Size Barbie' dreams come true, letting me dress her up for the night. I'm still 🤤over all the @storrowjewelry layered necklaces and charms ✨."
The mother-of-four also gave a shout out to @thestewartofny for the photo, noting, "I don't usually post or encourage pap shots, but these guys leave my kids alone so they have my respect 🫡." Lively shares daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, as well as a fourth child born in 2023, with husband Ryan Reynolds.
The It Ends with Us star was spotted at Carbone in New York City on June 28, the same night the photos were taken. She was joined by co-stars Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar, and Isabela Ferrer, in addition to other friends. Another photo from her post showed the group cheesing together at the dinner table and Sklenar being presented with a birthday cupcake.
The photo spread comes just a couple days after Lively had fans laughing at a thirsty caption on her Instagram Story. On top of a photo of her husband holding his four-legged co-star "Dogpool" at a Deadpool & Wolverine event, Lively gushed, "SOS. He's trying to get me pregnant again. Put the dog that you find adorable in spite of societal K9 expectations away and take off the damn teal suit! Rude."
The screenshot came from a video Reynolds had shared to his Instagram of him gushing about "Dogpool" aka Peggy, a dog who won Britain's Ugliest Dog in 2023. "Guys, this is Peggy... Get a good look..." Reynolds says in the video, adding, "She won Ugliest Dog in Britain, but we're not telling her that, because she is a 10 in our hearts, isn't she?"
