Glenn Close has spoken up about comments made about a viral photo of her at the star-studded Wimbledon Tennis Championship men's final on Sunday.

The Hollywood actress was among a host of celebrities who were photographed at the match in London between seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic and 21-year-old returning champion, Carlos Alcaraz.

As Close settled into her seat on the Centre Court of London's All England Tennis & Croquet Club, the 101 Dalmatians star was photographed sitting next to former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and in front of Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield.

In one highlighted image from the event, all three actors had serious facial expressions as they focused their attention on the high-stakes game at hand.

Making note of the stars' respective screen roles, entertainment reporter Brian Rowe posted the image on X, formerly Twitter, alongside the caption: "My multiverse is Spider-Man, Cruella, and James Bond watching a tennis match."

Responding to the post—which, as of press time, has garnered more than 4.8 million views—Sayantan Ghosh, an executive editor at publisher Simon & Schuster India, dreamed up a storyline featuring all three actors.

Referring to Garfield, Ghosh wrote: "He looks like their only son who refused to join the family business and has started a podcast on the evils of capitalism."

While the post sparked amused reactions among X users, Close showed that she was also tickled by the comment as she posted it on her Instagram account.

Sharing a screenshot of both comments sandwiching the Wimbledon image, the actress simply wrote: "Very funny." She also added the post to her Instagram Story.

The gesture was not missed by Ghosh, who in turn posted a screenshot of her Instagram post as he expressed excitement over the social-media moment.

"I think I can gladly leave X at this point," Ghosh wrote. "Now that THE Glenn Close has called me very funny and posted my joke on her Instagram."

Sunday at the Wimbledon tennis championship was attended by a veritable who's who of the celebrity world. Among the stars seen in the crowd were Tom Cruise, Zendaya, Julia Roberts, Grace Jones, Paul Mescal, and Jamie Dornan.

Other celebrities in attendance included Courteney Cox, Luke Evans, Greta Gerwig, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Zawe Ashton, Gerard Butler, Tom Felton, Naomi Ackie, and Aaron and Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Despite the undeniable star power, all eyes were on Princess Kate, who received a standing ovation as she arrived for the match. The outing marked a rare public appearance for the royal in recent months.

Kate, who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, has traditionally attended the championships across several days each year. However, after announcing that she had been diagnosed with cancer in a statement back in March, her attendance this year was confirmed with only 24 hours' notice.

As Kate entered the royal box on the Centre Court, cameras covering the event caught the moment the spectators rose to their feet and gave her a deafening cheer. The royal took her seat and offered the crowd a wave in return with a broad smile.
