HGTV personality Christina Hall and husband Joshua Hall have filed for divorce, Newsweek Entertainment can confirm. News of their shocking split comes just three days after Christina gushed about their relationship.
Per the divorce documents, Joshua — who filed for divorce on Tuesday, July 16, listed the date of separation as July 8. The former Flip or Flop host, for her part, also filed her own divorce paperwork.
The divorce will be Christina's third. She was previously married to Tarek El Moussa from to 2009 to 2018, and with whom she shares 13-year-old daughter Taylor and 8-year-old son Brayden. She wed Ant Anstead, with whom she shares 4-year-old son Hudson, several months after finalizing her divorce from El Moussa. She announced her split from Anstead in September 2020; she and Joshua got engaged one year later. News broke in April 2022 that she and Joshua had tied the knot. They held a ceremony in Hawaii that September.
In an interview with E! News published on Saturday, July 13 — with the headline "HGTV Star Christina Hall Reveals the Secret of Her Strong Marriage to Josh Hall" — the interior designer told the outlet that "being communicative" was the key to her and Joshua's marriage.
"Keep communication open," she continued, adding: "And then having alone time when we can, whether it's date night, going on little trips — just things like that."
Though it was these words that made her split from Joshua such a surprise, some fans had been wondering about the state of their marriage after Christina's most recent Instagram post — which featured numerous photos of her redesign of her parents' house.
Though neither Christina — nor her parents — were in any of the pictures, Joshua's absence left her followers curious.
"Where's Josh are you separated?" one person questioned on Saturday. "I was asking the same thing!!!" another agreed.
During her time with Joshua, the Christina on the Coast star dealt with her fair share of naysayers, lambasting the negativity via Instagram in August 2021.
"I normally turn off comments with Josh and will continue to do so if people are rude. I don't want to waste any mins of my life blocking negative people," she wrote at the time.
