Elon Musk's reaction to Joe Biden potentially running for president again in 2028 has gone viral.

The tech mogul was responding to a post on X, formerly Twitter. Musk purchased the social network in 2022 and rebranded it.

"If Trump wins Biden can still run again in 2028," user @Richard_Harambe wrote on July 14, with his post receiving over 3 million views. The message caught the attention of Musk, who commented with just a laughing emoji, and at the time of publishing, his response has received more than 95,000 views.

Last weekend, Musk threw his support behind Donald Trump for the 2024 general election, after previously pledging to remain neutral. His endorsement followed the assassination attempt on the former president.

A gunman fired at Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. A bullet struck the former president in his upper-right ear, before the Republican was rushed off stage by Secret Service agents. One rallygoer was killed in the attack, while two more were seriously injured.

A spokesperson for Trump later confirmed the politician was "fine." In an email message to his supporters on Sunday, Trump said: "I will NEVER SURRENDER!"

After news of the assassination attempt broke, Musk shared a video of Trump with blood dripping down his face following the attack, with the 78-year-old pumping his fist in the air.

"I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery," Musk wrote on X.

"The martyr lived," he added in a follow-up post. He later shared a photo of Trump with the caption: "Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt."

On Monday, The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk was planning to donate $45 million a month to support Trump's campaign run via America PAC, a Trump political action committee.

However, the Tesla CEO appeared to dispute the report, calling it "fake gnus" on X. The Wall Street Journal responded to Musk's clap back in a statement, with the outlet saying: "We stand by our reporting."

Musk was formerly an outspoken critic of Trump. The billionaire served on two White House business councils early in Trump's term, but quit in 2017 after the then-president vowed to remove the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement.

The electric car entrepreneur has ardently supported green initiatives in the past, with sustainability a key selling point of his Tesla vehicles.

Musk has also publicly criticized Joe Biden on social media. In April, Musk described the president as "a tragic front for a far left political machine."

Musk has hit out at the 81-year-old over immigration and health, and made attacks on the Democratic politician's age—a common thread among Biden's critics.

In May, The New York Times reported that Musk had posted about Biden more than 20 times on X.

In recent years, the 53-year-old has also positioned himself as "anti-woke." During an appearance on HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher in April 2023, Musk suggested that a "woke mind virus" was influencing younger men.

In his memoir, released in September, Musk said he became "anti-woke" following his estranged daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson's gender transition. The 20-year-old, whose mother is Canadian author Jennifer Justine Musk, came out as a transgender woman in 2022, with Musk blaming her transition for the rift between them.
