Since splitting from the monarchy in 2020 and moving to the U.S., Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have embarked on high-profile careers as Hollywood industrialists, producing wide ranging media content from best-selling books to award-winning podcasts and record-breaking docuseries.

Though these have not exclusively won the couple praise, the projects have proven time and again that when Harry and Meghan speak, a large proportion of the public is willing to listen.

The couple have several projects that they have announced in the pipeline from a sports documentary show for Netflix to a solo podcast with women-led Lemonada Media.

Here, Newsweek looks at all of Harry and Meghan's media projects since their split from the monarchy, so far.

Archewell Audio Podcast Holiday Special

After their split from the monarchy and announcement that they had signed multimillion-dollar partnerships with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify, Harry and Meghan fans around the world eagerly awaited their first content releases.

In December 2020, the couple released their first piece of curated content with Spotify in the form of a special podcast episode released under the Archewell Audio name.

The episode featured special guests including Tyler Perry, Elton John and Stacey Abrams, with reflections on the past year and hopes for the future curated by Harry and Meghan.

The show featured an adorable cameo from the couple's son, Prince Archie, and while fans had hoped the special would mark the first episode of a series, it remained a one-off special.

'The Bench'

In June 2021, Meghan released her debut literary project in the form of an illustrated children's book titled The Bench.

The book featured a poem written by Meghan telling the story of a father's and son's over time from a mother's perspective.

The book was illustrated by artist Christian Robinson and generally well received, going on to become a number one New York Times bestseller.

'Pearl'

Pearl was a children's show developed by Archewell Productions (Harry and Meghan's production company which partnered with Netflix) and executive produced by the duchess with David Furnish.

The show was based on Meghan's idea for an empowering educational project aimed at young girls, developed as an amination series.

Netflix quietly scrapped the show while still in the development stages in 2022 after the streaming giant dropped a number of its animation productions.

Archetypes

Archetypes was Meghan's first solo podcast series and would be the only series produced in Archewell Audio's partnership with Spotify.

The show launched in August 2022 with the aim to "dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back."

The show unpicked a number of key themes over 12 episodes featuring interviews with celebrities like Serena Williams and Paris Hilton.

Meghan received critical acclaim for the series, winning a Gracie Award and People's Choice Award.

'Harry & Meghan'

Harry and Meghan released their first show for Netflix in December 2022.

The six-part eponymous series detailed not only the course of their romance and marriage but also their highly controversial split from the monarchy, relationship with the tabloid press and royal family members.

The show broke streaming records for a Netflix docuseries upon its release and dominated news coverage for its bombshell revelations, however, it was not positively reviewed by critics.

'Live To Lead'

Days after the release of Harry & Meghan, Archewelll Productions debuted its second docuseries titled, Live to Lead.

The show, produced in partnership with Blackwell & Roth and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, covered seven episodes featuring longform interviews with high profile public leaders, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Greta Thunberg and Gloria Steinem.

Harry and Meghan introduced each interview but did not conduct them.

The show did not create a large public impact, coming so soon on the heels of the royals' personal docuseries and was not well received by critics.

'Spare'

Prince Harry released his memoir, Spare, on January 10, 2023 to the anticipation of the world's media.

The book became the fastest selling non-fiction book of all time, providing an unprecedented insight into the youth and adulthood of a royal prince.

Harry not only detailed his upbringing, reaction to the death of Princess Diana and relationships with his brother, Prince William, and father, King Charles, but also described to readers his many run-ins with the tabloid media throughout his life and the paparazzi.

In addition to being a bestseller, Spare won the prince the continued support of his fanbase, also drawing widespread criticism for a number of controversial inclusions.

'Heart of Invictus'

Archewell Productions' third docuseries release through Netflix was intended to be the first, an in-depth look at the preparations made by six veterans competing in the Invictus Games.

The show featured commentary from Harry as well as behind-the-scenes access to meetings and events he attended surrounding the 2022 Games which were held in the Netherlands.

The show was well received by critics though did not prove a strong draw for audiences, with the series failing to make it into the Netflix top 10.

Coming Up...

Harry and Meghan have a number of key media projects in the works, though no official release dates have been announced.

Harry is working on a new docuseries for Netflix centered around the world of international polo, while Meghan is curating another series based on her love of entertaining.

Meghan is also working on a new solo podcast series after signing a deal with Lemonada Media. The couple split from Spotify in 2023.

In addition to these, Archewell Productions is also reported to be working on their first non-fiction project for Netflix, an adaptation of the hit novel, Meet Me at the Lake.
