Alabama Barker recently opened up about her struggles with body image on social media and revealed she is using weight loss medication.
In a "Get Ready With Me" video that was re-shared by a fan on TikTok on Tuesday, July 16, she disclosed that she is currently using weight loss medication, stating she's "tired of being fat."
Alabama shared her frustration with how she perceives herself in photos versus real life. "I have this thing where I photograph so ugly and people are like, 'Oh my God, you're so fat and you're so ugly,'" she explained. "It's like, I see what you guys are seeing but just meet me in person. I feel like I really don't look like that." She continued, "I'm on weight loss medication because I'm tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre."
Fans of the 18-year-old, who is the daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, were quick to show their support in the comments. "this is genuinely so sad omg," noted one user, while another agreed, "She's literally so cute & pretty this makes me so sad 😭."
Others seemingly related to the influencer saying, "No omg I get this sm," and "I am in the same position right now sadly, so many of my followers been commenting on my weight."
This revelation comes nearly a year after Alabama addressed online critics of her appearance, revealing that she suffers from "a thyroid problem and an autoimmune disease." In an August 2023 TikTok, she explained, "So that's one of the main reasons why I have weight gain. So, it would be very appreciated if you guys just keep your opinions to yourself. It'll get you further in life."
Alabama is Travis's third child with Moakler, following her brother Landon Barker, 20. The drummer also helped raise his ex-wife's first-born daughter, Atiana De La Hoya, who is now 25, and recently welcomed a son in 2023 named Rocky Thirteen with current wife, Kourtney Kardashian.
