Miranda Lambert didn't hesitate to take control when a scuffle broke out during one of her Texas concerts over the weekend.
While in the middle of performing the emotional track "Tin Man" from her 2016 album The Weight of These Things, Lambert noticed some fans getting rowdy at her Midland, Texas show on Saturday, June 29 and decided to take matters into her own hands.
In the fan-captured video, which has since been posted to X (formerly known as Twitter), Lambert paused her performance to address the commotion in the crowd. Concerned at first that someone might have been injured or fainted, she quickly assessed the situation. "Are y'all fighting? During this song? 'Cause I will come down there," she remarked, clearly ready to handle the situation herself.
Lambert, 40, made it clear that such behavior was not acceptable, stating, "We're not doing that today." As security moved to identify the troublemakers, she pointed out the two women causing the disturbance and humorously added, "He ain't worth it, it's fine. It's always the girls. We always get riled up and start punching each other. Why?"
Ensuring the concert could continue smoothly, the country singer directed security to remove the involved parties, even jokingly suggesting they "throw her over your shoulder" to escort the women out.
This isn't the first time Lambert has paused a performance to address audience behavior. During a show at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas in July 2023, she stopped singing "Tin Man" once again to call out some fans taking selfies. "I'm gonna stop right here for a second, I'm sorry. These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It's pissing me off a little bit," she told the audience. "I don't like it—at all. We're here to hear some country music, and I'm singing some country damn music."
The incident sparked debate on social media, with some supporting Lambert's stance on concert etiquette and others arguing fans should be able to take photos as they please.
