Sharon Osbourne has spoken out against accusations she was "drunk" while making an appearance at an awards show.

Osbourne has appeared on TV shows in the U.S. and her native U.K. in the years since she rose to fame alongside her family in the early aughts on the classic MTV reality show The Osbournes.

And when one of those shows won an award at a ceremony, Osbourne said that her excitement in the moment was later erroneously reported as drunken behavior.

During the latest installment of The Osbournes podcast, Osbourne's son, Jack Osbourne, asked the family about "the craziest rumor you've heard about yourself."

After much deliberating, Sharon Osbourne said: "There was an awards show in England. It was the TV awards and a show I was on won something. I got up and I was really, really happy for the show. And I was [saying], 'Yay!'

"The next day in the press, it was saying that I was staggering and drunk and I'm like, 'Excuse me? I was just excited for the show.'"

Kelly Osbourne, the matriarch's daughter, chimed in: "They would know if mom was drunk, because mom gets very emotional when she drinks."

"No, I flash," Sharon Osbourne insisted, prompting her daughter to add: "And you cry."

Back in 2016, Sharon Osbourne, who is married to former Black Sabbath lead vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, pushed back against similar accusations that she was intoxicated while carrying out her duties as a judge on U.K. talent show The X Factor.

During the broadcast in question, the TV personality made headlines for a number of moments, including placing her hands on the chest of fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger in a bid to prevent an apparent wardrobe malfunction for the singer.

Addressing the subsequent chatter the moment sparked, Sharon Osbourne said on CBS' The Talk: "Why is it while you're there and you're having fun and you're being silly, do you have to be drunk? It's entertainment and it goes out late on a Saturday night."

""I'm there with the bestest—Nicole [Scherzinger]," she continued. "She's funny, she's naughty and you have fun."

Addressing Sharon Osbourne's hands-on intervention with Scherzinger, fellow panelist Sara Gilbert said: "I've been with Sharon drunk and she wouldn't be covering the girl's boobs, she'd be exposing them."

"Trust me, we've been out with Sharon when she's been tipsy, you'll know," co-host Julie Chen added.

Sharon Osbourne was permanently suspended from The Talk in 2021 after getting into a heated discussion about racism with fellow panelist Sheryl Underwood.

At the time, Sharon Osbourne was defending her friend, Piers Morgan, who said in March 2021 that he didn't "believe a word" of Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which she spoke about her experience in Britain's royal family.
