Like father, like daughter. America's favorite weather presenter Al Roker is beloved for his journalistic prowess. Also a journalist is his daughter, Leila, who is based in Paris. Leila made a special appearance on Today on July 31 for the ultimate collaboration — a croissant crawl with her father, Al.

While the two are both highly skilled in their reporting, Leila, 25, and Al, 69, rarely get to collaborate. In the video, we learn that Leila moved to Paris for college, and opted to stay their to build her career in fashion journalism after graduating. But while Al and the Today crew are in Paris covering the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Leila decided to show her father, along with Craig Melvin the best croissant bakeries in the city.

The first pastry they try is the traditional butter croissant from Chez Meunier, where a baker explains to them to cooking techniques in which they get the croissant in perfect form. Later, the group tries the viral crookie — a croissant stuffed with cookie dough — from Maison Bouchard.

The pressure is high for the Olympic athletes in Paris, but nailing the perfect croissant is equally rigorous. But the Today crew is all in agreement that Leila did an excellent job curating a great list of places to eat. She even earned the title of Melvin's "favorite Roker."
