Michelle Williams turned some heads as she was spotted with her daughter, Matilda Ledger, taking a stroll in New York City on Wednesday, July 31.
In photos obtained by Page Six, the actress walked hand-in-hand with her 18-year-old daughter, who hasn't been seen in the public since she was a child. Matilda, a spitting image of her father Heath Ledger, kept it casual in a baggy white t-shirt and white jeans, while mom Michelle, 43, wore a patterned tunic dress. The outing included some quality mother-daughter time at a local salon, where they both got manicures and pedicures.
Matilda's father, Heath, unfortunately passed away after an accidental drug overdose in 2008 when she was just 2 years old. The Australian actor, known for his iconic roles in movies like The Dark Knight and Brokeback Mountain, had an autopsy done after his passing, which revealed "acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine." He was 28 at the time.
In a 2022 interview with Variety, Michelle talked about the immense support she received from Succession actor Jeremy Strong following the tragic death of Ledger. The Fablemans actress shared how Strong played a crucial role in helping her and Matilda navigate their grief, saying to the outlet, "Jeremy was serious enough to hold the weight of a child's broken heart and sensitive enough to understand how to approach [her] through play and games and silliness."
At the time of his death, Williams and Ledger had already parted ways, having reportedly ended their relationship in September 2007.
