Q_What inspired your outfit?

A_I wanted something colorful. It's a festival, I wana have fun. I want to look cute. [The dress is from] a boutique that was absolutely closed and the owner said, "I'll open it for you." In Mount Vernon, New York. I saw this piece and I wanted it instantly. And then I came here to finish it off. Where did I go? Nordstrom Rack to get the purple boots, and it just did its thing, you know? The hair is Josephine Baker. Makeup by me.

Who are you most excited to see at the festival?

SZA! I saw Victoria Monét. She was absolutely amazing, but I'm excited to see SZA.

How did you decide on your Lolla outfit?

I cosplay and I kind of just wear this a lot. It's comfortable. The shirt's a cutoff that I did. And it's from Black Clover, which is an anime. It's not my favorite but it's an enjoyable show.

What's your favorite brand?

I don't have a favorite brand for anything. I kind of just buy what looks good I guess.

What was your outfit inspiration?

I wanted something really drapey and free. And I went to as many thrift stores as possible until I found something that was loose and fitting and flowy.

What's your favorite brand?

I really like Betsey Johnson. I like how eclectic her whole everything is.

How did you decide on your outfit today?

When it came to this outfit, you know with the whole beef going on between Kendrick [Lamar] and Drake, I had to represent [Kendrick]! I had to show the world that Kendrick is the winner, the ultimate winner.

Is the shirt thrifted?

I went to a Kendrick show in Brooklyn—Barclays Center. And they were passing the shirts outside the concert.

For free?

No, I paid 20 bucks for this. Laughs. And I grabbed it and I actually cut it up myself. I cut up the sleeves and tied it a bit to make it a bit more edgy and rough. And I tied it in the back. And I got it tailored to fit me a bit to my size.

Tell me about your style.

I chose this outfit and the bag because it's very colorful and I have youth-led talk show called Youth Talkz. And I feel like people lose that youth aspect of them when they grow up. Everyone becomes duller. You hear people say, "Don't express yourself. People think you're crazy." And stuff like that. But if you show color—color means things. Colors change people's moods. And if you wear bright colors, people feel better! I chose this outfit just to be youthful. I'm 24 years old. The bag and my outfit are from Target. And the shoes are from Marc Nolan, a local brand in Chicago, in West Loop.

Who are you most excited to see at Lolla?

I am so excited to see everyone! Because everyone has a story to tell. And my artist who doesn't perform this year, but next year, hopefully, is Zion Ali. Shoutout to him. He's a youth empowerment artist. All positive and uplifting music, which we need more of in society.

Where did you get your outfit from?

I must admit that the shirt is a Shein top. That's a little bit diabolical. But the skirt I did thrift from Goodwill. The boots [are from] Zappos.

Do you have a favorite clothing brand?

I thrift a lot so I don't necessarily have a favorite brand.

What vibes were you going for with your outfit?

Just festival vibes and then kind of like a mix of country. And I don't really know how to describe it. Gold. Jewelry. Like jingly. It's kind of my vibe that I went for.

Who are you excited to see live?

Excited to see Two Door Cinema Club tomorrow and TV Girl today.

Talk about your style today.

I'm representing overalls. I love overalls. And I feel like, youth is overalls. Bottom line. I'm a youth advocate. Changing the narrative for the upcoming generation. There's music on the radio that's about killing each other and degrading women. It's cool for us Gen Z folks to be listening to stuff like that, but what the kids gonna listen to? That's why I stepped in, to be a beacon for the kids. They're the next politicians, artists, beauticians, and whatever they're gonna be. Music is gonna be the driving force for whatever they're gonna do, so that's why I step in.

What's that on your necklace?

I'm on my Batman stuff right now. I don't like anything that can fly and sting me. So Batman doesn't like bats. So that's why I just wear my stuff. So I'm just like, on my Batman thing right now. I'm just wearing a bee because I don't like bees.

What are you wearing?

I was inspired by EDM. I've been over at Perry Stage the past couple of days so I got a transparent heat hand shirt on just to kind of fit the vibes. But I did go comfy and basic today because the heat will get the best of me.

Why did you decide to come to Lolla this year?

Sexyy Redd. She is mother to me. She just inspires me to be a confident female. I love her.
