Model Amber Rose has issued a warning to people in southern California over a spate of "crazy" burglaries.

Flanked by her two sons, Sebastian, 11, and Slash, 4, Rose posted a video explaining how the car windows had been smashed while the boys played.

Posting from her home, which is believed to be in San Fernando Valley, Rose explained how her assistant, Joseph, had taken her sons out for a few hours on Sunday.

"They knocked the windows out of my truck while my kids were playing and, three of my friends, it also happened to their cars today," she began in a video posted to her Instagram stories.

"Yesterday, my best friend's house almost got robbed by three guys. It is crazy in Southern California," Rose said, before reassuring her fans by saying: "But my boys are okay."

She turned to her son and asked, "you guys, okay?" and Sebastian confirmed they were doing well and "as long as Joe is here protecting us we'll be fine."

Newsweek contacted Rose and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) by email for comment.

There has been a spate of burglaries and attempted robberies in the San Fernando Valley, which is part of the wider Los Angeles area, according to the LAPD.

Interim Los Angeles Police Chief Dominic Choi told media on Tuesday that robberies have increased by 9.5 percent compared to 2023, as reported in the San Fernando Sun.

Choi said burglaries were up 1 percent and residential burglaries were specifically up 4.5 percent.

The police boss said robberies continued to "plague us as a crime problem."

Rose has been making headlines recently for her support of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and even speaking at July's Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee.

She was previously a critic of Trump when he was president but became a vocal supporter of the MAGA movement and explained to conservative pundit Candace Owens her reason for the ideological change.

"I'm 40 now, and this is why I don't give a f*** anymore, like I don't care. I'm gonna speak at the RNC. I'm gonna speak on my Instagram and say how I feel about things and I'm not going to hold back anymore," she said on a recent episode of Owens' eponymous podcast.

Rose admitted that she "took a gamble," by supporting Trump and MAGA, but by "doing that it was better than how I was living before."

"So that's just how I felt. I mean, I took the risk and I guess it worked but even if it didn't it would have been better than before," she said.
