Jessica Simpson hit back at a social media troll who accused the sober singer of drinking again.

The Instagram user's bold accusation came after the fashion designer, 44, took to the app on Monday, August 5, to share a black-and-white photo of her 11-year-old son, Ace.

"STOP DRINKING!" the person wrote in the comments section of Simpson's tribute to her son, in which the "I Wanna Love You Forever" artist gushed over her middle child, whom she called "the kindest, most handsome 11yr old son on the planet." (Simpson shares her son — as well as daughters Maxwell and Birdie — with husband Eric Johnson.)

Not only was the commenter's remark unrelated to the Newlywed alum's upload — it was also blatantly untrue, Simpson said.

"I haven't wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I've made for myself and for my family," Simpson wrote in response. "Thank You for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way."

The "Sweetest Sin" singer has been candid about her past substance abuse, both in her critically-acclaimed 2020 memoir, Open Book, but also in dozens of interviews.

In an in-depth interview on the Today show in 2020, Simpson revealed she knew she had a problem when she failed to show up for her three children on Halloween 2017.

"I just realized that I had to surrender," Simpson told host Hoda Kotb, adding: "At this point in my life, I'm strong enough to deal with anything that comes my way. Because I don't have something to retreat to that will numb me from actually going through it."

Simpson's two eldest kids — Maxwell is 12, one year older than Ace — are also aware of their mom's sobriety. (Her and Johnson's youngest child, daughter Birdie, is 5.)

"They know Mommy doesn't drink wine because it makes her too silly," she told BuzzFeed News in February 2020. "So, when I explained it to my kids they really understood that Mommy is just living her best life!"
