In a significant security operation, authorities in Vienna, Austria, arrested two individuals on Wednesday for allegedly planning an attack on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert.

According to ABC News, authorities in Vienna arrested a 19-year-old Austrian citizen and an unidentified individual on August 7 after discovering evidence of a planned attack during a morning raid. The raid at the teen's residence, where he lived with his parents, uncovered various chemicals and substances, according to the Austrian outlet Kronen Zeitung.

The specific reasons for targeting the 14-time Grammy winner's concert remain unclear, but authorities confirmed that one of her sold-out Vienna shows was indeed the target. Swift, 34, has yet to comment on the incident herself.

The "Fortnight" singer was scheduled to perform in Vienna this weekend, with shows set for Thursday, August 8, Friday, August 9, and Saturday. August 10. However, the pop star's three shows have been canceled, with concert organizers Barracuda Music issuing a statement on Instagram shortly after the arrests.

"Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour Vienna shows were canceled due to government officials confirmation of planned terrorist attack. With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety," the statement read.

It's safe to say Swifties are in shock after hearing the news, taking to the comments section of the post to express their feelings. "i can't believe the concert i've been waiting for over 10 years is now gone. i don't think i'll ever get over this," said one upset fan. Another noted the importance of everyone's safety, saying, "Honestly as sad as I am about this, I would rather have all the swifties Taylor and myself safe from any harm. The world is a scary place. This really sucks, but it's the right call."

Another fan agreed, mentioning the unfortunate attack on Ariana Grande's show in 2017. "to anyone whos putting the blame on taylor or taking it out on her just realise the danger she wouldve not only put herself in but everyone else as well. did we not all see what happened at ariana grandes tour?"

This attempted attack comes shortly after another tragic event affecting Swift's fans. In late July, a 17-year-old named Axel Rudakubana was involved in a stabbing spree at a Swift-themed dance class in northwest England, resulting in the deaths of three young girls and injuries to several police officers.
