While Gabby Douglas might not have competed in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the three-time Olympic gold medalist continues to garner much buzz. But even among large groups of fans are a few haters. Many have taken notice that some people have been comparing Douglas to fellow Olympian Simone Biles. One person took to TikTok to express their frustration at how people seemed to brush Douglas, 28, aside once Biles, 27, became a big name in the realm of the Olympics.

This TikToker claimed people "dropped" Douglas "like a bad habit" once Biles stepped onto the scene.

"Gabby Douglas used to be the greatest Olympic gymnast and then here comes Simone Biles," said the TikToker.

The TikToker concluded the video clip, reiterating her love for Douglas, noting that the gymnast is always on her mind.

"When [was] the last time you thought about Gabby Douglas?," she asked. "I think about her all the time."

Evidently, Douglas caught wind of the video. She took to the comments section, expressing that she didn't mind that her fame has settled down, as she was feeling burnt out from being in the public eye.

"that's ok! constantly being bullied is very tiring and wearing on me," wrote Douglas. "i just want to live my life and be at peace 🖤 thanks for the love! definitely needed in this world x."

Following her second Olympics at Rio De Janeiro in 2016, Douglas took a six-year hiatus from the Olympics. She decided to get back onto the mat after seeing Team USA win gold at the 2022 World Championships. Though a foot injury halted her from competing in the Paris Games, she shared in an interview with E! News that she is considering a return for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

"Getting back and having the right diet, having the right structure, having the right schedule, I was like, Oh, I can possibly do this" Douglas said. "So it's really fun to play around with different skills. I'd never done a few of the skills that I competed in this journey."
