In a startling twist of fate, Brad Pitt finds himself grappling with a parent's worst fear. His son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt is battling the aftermath of a harrowing e-bike accident that left him in the ICU. According to TMZ, sources close to the 60-year-old Hollywood icon claim Pitt has been "extremely concerned."

On Monday, July 29, the 20-year-old's typical e-bike ride took a disastrous turn on Los Angeles' bustling Los Feliz Boulevard. According to law enforcement, it was around 5 p.m. local time that Pax, sans helmet, got entangled in a high-traffic ordeal. The resulting accident left him with a head injury and severe hip pain, catapulting him straight into the intensive care unit of an L.A. hospital.

Days after the collision, a family friend gave People an update: "Pax has been released from the ICU. He suffered complex trauma, and now begins the long road of recovery and physical therapy."

The source went on to claim that Angelina Jolie, who also shares Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, with Pitt, is "deeply grateful for the quick and life-saving action of first responders, and the outstanding medical care he received." The 49-year-old Maleficent actress has stayed by her son's side through his recovery, the source added, as do his brothers and sisters. "They are all very close," noted the insider.

While it's unclear whether Pitt has visited Pax since the accident, sources close to the Moneyball star conveyed to TMZ on Wednesday, August 7, that he has been consistently updated about his son's recovery. "Brad still cares a lot about Pax," affirmed the source.

The relationship between Pitt and Pax has been marked by years of distance, a situation exacerbated by the Golden Globe winner's highly publicized and contentious divorce from Jolie. The rift became painfully public when Pax, in a devastating Father's Day post in 2020, denounced his father. Using harsh words, he expressed his deep-seated grievances, calling Pitt a "world-class a**hole" and criticizing his behavior towards his siblings and mother.
