In a moment that seemed straight out of a fairy tale, a couple in Vienna, Austria, turned their love story into a real-life romance when they got engaged in front of a crowd of fellow Taylor Swift fans.

The male couple, who were in Vienna to attend one of Swift's canceled "Eras Tour" concerts, were part of a large group of fans gathering to celebrate the superstar's music.

The uplifting video comes after disappointment in Vienna when Swift's much-anticipated concerts there were canceled due to a credible terror threat. The pop superstar was set to perform at the Ernst Happel Stadium on August 8, 9, and 10.

As the crowd watched on, one half of the couple asked his partner to marry him.

The surrounding fans, realizing what was happening, erupted into cheers and applause, amplifying the magic of the moment with reports of the crowd singing Swift's song Love Story in unison to mark the occasion.

Videos of the proposal quickly went viral as fans around the world shared in the couple's joy. The sense of community among Swifties was palpable, as the newly engaged couple hugged and kissed in the crowd.

Many fans took to social media to comment on and repost the video, with one clip of the video garnering more than 283,000 views.

"All these videos are bringing me to tears!! This is the true legacy of Taylor Swift. In the face of adversity, we still turn up, we still come together, we will stay strong. We really CAN do it with a broken heart," commented Mrs_Lewis_13

As previously reported by Newsweek, authorities in Vienna announced that the suspects in the foiled terror plot for the Vienna shows appeared to have been inspired by the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) and radicalized online.

Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner announced that two suspects, a 17-year-old, and a 19-year-old, were arrested in connection to the planned terrorist attack, saying: "The situation was serious, the situation is serious. But we can also say: A tragedy was prevented."

The two men were suspected of wanting to carry out a terror attack outside of the stadium, in hopes of killing as many people as possible, Austrian security officials said.

The cancellation marks the first time on the Eras Tour that Swift has had to cancel a performance due to security concerns. Fans around the world have taken to social media to express their support for the artist and their disappointment over the unexpected turn of events.

Many also praised the fast action taken by Austrian authorities to prevent a potential mass tragedy. Clearly, the disappointment of the cancellations didn't dampen spirits too much, given the proposal video circulating online.

Swift has yet to comment on the proposal, but fans are hopeful she'll acknowledge the couple's heartwarming moment in one of her upcoming concerts.

Newsweek reached out to Taylor Swift's publicist via email on Friday outside of working hours for comment.
