Plenty of us have had that terrible dream where we show up to an important event, like work or school, without pants. But for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and star, Patrick Mahomes, the nightmare became reality at a recent practice with the team.
Mahomes, 28, was recently captured in an Instagram reel from the Chiefs' official page showing up to practice without his pants.
It wasn't quite as embarrassing as it sounds, as the quarterback was still wearing shorts, but his wife Brittany didn't hesitate to gently mock him on her own Instagram story. "Sorry I'm not there to dress you," the founding co-owner of the Kansas City Current soccer team, 28, wrote in the caption with a laughing emoji.
Patrick apparently wished his wife had been there to dress him in the video, where he seemed to realize he'd forgotten his pants and tried to figure a way out of it. "Maybe people will think my quads are so big they just look like pants," he suggested to an assistant coach. "I doubt it," the coach replied skeptically.
Mahomes was forced to leave the field to complete his ensemble, complaining cheerfully, "I look like an idiot now, dude." He took the mishap in stride and simply went to change.
Patrick met Brittany Mahomes, neé Matthews, in high school, and the couple tied the knot in 2022. Their first daughter, Sterling Skye, was born in 2021, while the couple was engaged. Patrick "Bronze" Lavon was born in November 2022. The couple announced that they are expecting their third child on July 12.
In an Instagram post on July 19, they announced that their third child would be another girl, in a celebration overflowing with pink balloons and a giant tic-tac-toe board. As the Mahomes children grow up, we'll have to watch and see if they've inherited their father's habit of forgetting his pants!
