Joe Rogan has cleared the air and posed with a Donald Trump impersonator after reports he had endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president.

The podcast host caused a stir during the most recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience when he seemed to give the thumbs up for the independent candidate ahead of November's election.

But on Friday, Rogan clarified that his words about RFK Jr. were not necessarily a political endorsement, but rather an expression of admiration.

"For the record, this isn't an endorsement. This is me saying that I like RFKjr as a person, and I really appreciate the way he discusses things with civility and intelligence. I think we could use more of that in this world. I also think Trump raising his fist and saying "fight!" after getting shot is one of the most American f****** things of all time. I'm not the guy to get political information from. If you want that from a comic, go to@ComicDaveSmith. He actually knows what he's talking about," Rogan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on a repost of a video of him lauding RFK Jr., which was shared by Collin Rugg, founder of the Trending Politics news site.

Following Rogan's comments about RFK Jr. on his podcast, former U.S. President Trump slammed the podcaster and UFC commentator.

"It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024," the 2024 Republican candidate wrote on his Truth Social website.

But on Sunday, Rogan returned fire by posing with a Trump impersonator in a post on Instagram that went viral with almost 494,000 likes at the time of writing. The impersonator was comedian Shane Gillis, who dressed up as Trump to portray him during a live recording of the Kill Tony podcast at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday.

"Ran into Trump. Everything is cool," Rogan captioned the Instagram post.

Rogan's followers reacted with a range of responses to the post in the comments.

"Dude if you had Trump on your podcast it would be the most watched episode ever. Let's make it happen!!" wrote @st3vi3wond3r.

"I thought Democrats were sensitive but You won't find anyone more sensitive than Trump supporters," commented @terry_7219.

"All these comments telling Joe to endorse Harris or Trump when he has obviously already endorsed Kennedy shows just how uniformed the general public is," added @_chrismccartney.

Rogan has had shared mixed political endorsements and preferences over the years.

He has previously said he did not vote for either Trump or President Joe Biden in the 2020 race. However, he had endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders' campaign during the 2020 Democratic primary.

In 2022, Rogan spoke about how Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was someone who would make a "good candidate" for president.

He also spoke highly of Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson in the 2016 presidential race.
