Charlotte is the middle child and only daughter of Kate and Prince William. She was born on May 2, 2015 and celebrated her ninth birthday this year with a special portrait released to mark the occasion taken by her mother.

Charlotte is currently third in line to inherit the throne in Britain behind her father and older brother, Prince George, and over the past two years has attended a number of high profile public events including the coronation of her grandfather, King Charles III, in May 2023.

Uploaded to TikTok by user trhwales on August 10, footage of Kate and Charlotte attending a specially organized children's party during a royal tour of Canada in 2016 has been viewed over 180,000 times on the platform, so far.

Kate and William took their two eldest children with them on their tour of Vancouver and British Columbia in September 2016, not yet having welcomed their third child, Prince Louis who was born in April 2018.

During their visit to Canada, the family were based in the city of Victoria on Vancouver Island and the children were present for the welcome and farewell appearances as well as a special party held at Government House on the island.

In the TikTok footage, Kate is seen petting a dog at the party after which she calls her then-16-month old daughter over to pet the pooch too.

"Look Charlotte, Charlotte look," Kate said. "Come and see him."

The footage then shows the little princess sitting on the dog's back and petting him.

The post has received over 25,000 likes and in excess of 100 comments, so far, many of which have praised the sweet interaction between mother and daughter.

"Is that baby Charlotte 😭 SHE is so cute," posted one TikTok user.

"Her little run is so adorable 😭🫶🫶," posted another, with a further comment reading: "Charlotte said 'this is my seat now'😂😭😭."
