Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has made sarcastic digs at Donald Trump's "sane" and "rational" messaging over the former president's claims that Vice President Kamala Harris had faked photos of crowds.

Hamill, 72, has long been critical of the former president and is actively supporting Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

Referring to an image of a crowd gathered on the tarmac to greet Harris off Air Force Two in Michigan, Trump wrote on Truth Social: "Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she 'A.I.'d' it, and showed a massive 'crowd' of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN'T EXIST!"

"She was turned in by a maintenance worker at the airport when he noticed the fake crowd picture, but there was nobody there, later confirmed by the reflection of the mirror like finish on the Vice Presidential Plane. She's a CHEATER."

There is no evidence that the images were AI generated.

Reposting an image of this comment on X, formerly Twitter, Hamill wrote: "Based on this sane, rational, fact-based statement, do you think there's any chance if he loses on 11/5 he'll claim it was a "RIGGED ELECTION"? A) Absolutely NOT B) 100 %"

He finished the post with "#DementiaDonOld" and an exploding head emoji. The post had been viewed 716,000 times as of Tuesday afternoon.

Newsweek has emailed Mark Hamill's representative and Donald Trump's campaign for comment.

The post took the internet by storm, with seemingly Democratic supporters jumping in to agree with him.

"I'd have to go with answer B," wrote one social media user.

"Oh this has been B for a long time now," said another.

However, not everyone seemed to find Hamill's post compelling. Some echoed claims that the 2020 election was rigged, and others took offense at the actor leveraging dementia as an insult.

"Mark I think you're great. But it hurts when I see dementia used as an insult,' commented one female X user.

Hamill taking shots at Donald Trump is nothing new. Following the attempted assassination attempt on Trump's life at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, Hamill mocked the "ludicrously oversized ear bandage" Trump wore.

His comments drew sharp criticism from many social media users.

In recent weeks, Hamill has also gone to lengths to use his X account to publicly endorse the Harris campaign.

After President Joe Biden announced he would no longer be Thefor reelection, Hamill praised the 46th U.S. president's record and threw his weight behind the Democrats.

In recent days, Hamill has praised the enthusiasm for the Harris campaign and compared it to the zeal that marked Barack Obama's first run for the White House.

Hamill is also backing the Republicans for Harris campaign and is due to speak at an online rally for the group on August 13 at 9 p.m. ET.

Other celebrities who have publicly endorsed Kamala Harris include singer John Legend, actor Jamie Lee Curtis and rapper Cardi B.
