It's a bittersweet season for Sister Wives as the Browns navigate life after polygamy.

Robyn Brown, now Kody Brown's only wife, shared her raw emotions about the unexpected turn their lives have taken. "This was not the way it was supposed to go," she lamented in the latest season teaser. "I feel like the idiot that got left behind."

The new season unveils dramatic shifts for the Brown family. Meri has sought an official 'release' from their former church, symbolizing her final step away from Kody, 55. Meanwhile, Christine is basking in newfound love, having married her soulmate in a picturesque Utah wedding. Janelle, on the other hand, has chosen a fresh start away from Flagstaff.

For Robyn, 45, these departures mark a stark shift from the plural marriage she committed to. With three of Kody's wives now gone, she and her husband are thrust into a monogamous lifestyle — a significant pivot from their original plans. "Now that the Browns have left polygamy behind, Robyn and Kody face challenges together as a monogamous couple and how to adapt to a lifestyle they never planned on living," the season synopsis reveals.

The trailer hints at further strains, with the reality TV star expressing doubts about her relationship with Kody. "I'm having a hard time feeling like I'm losing respect for you," she confesses, to which the father of 18 can only respond, "Robyn, I can't even get it straight with you right now."

As tensions rise, Kody reaches out to Janelle, 55, hoping to mend at least one fractured relationship. "I keep thinking that you and I could make this work. What about you and me?" he suggests hopefully. But Janelle remains resolute, signaling a firm end to their partnership. "We have had so many conversations where I said, it's done, we're done," she reveals in a confessional. "We're not compatible."

As the family contends with these profound changes, they also mourn the tragic loss of Janelle and Kody's son, Garrison, drawing the family together in grief. The season promises to be an emotional rollercoaster, reflecting on their past and facing their future with uncertainty.

Catch the Season 19 premiere of Sister Wives on Sunday, September 15.
