Kamala Harris' stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, is speaking out about her lifelong health issue.

The daughter of Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share details and ask for advice on "pain management."

"Behind every piece is a pain management device hard at work," she said. "I have bad chronic back pain and have for most of my life. My chronic pain people, what are we using to feel comf [sic]?"

In a follow-up message, Emhoff shared her appreciation for those who replied to her.

"Alright the responses have been COMING IN HOT it's actually very comforting seeing how many people can relate to chronic pain and also very sad," the model continued.

"Just for context, I was born with a tethered spine (iykyk) [if you know you know] which caused my back to not properly lengthen when I was growing and caused a kyphosis (hunchback)," Emhoff explained. "Was in and out of doctors and PT for most of my adolescence. Got lower back surgery grew a million inches and now deal with chronic pain. I'll be posting the responses in some form."

At the time of publication, Emhoff had not yet shared the responses she received.

Emhoff—who has over 345,000 followers on Instagram—is an artist who often uploads photos and videos of her artwork online.

Most recently, the 25-year-old shared a clip on the platform of her knitting.

"Certified member of the tiny teeth club," she captioned the August 1 post. The video has been viewed more than 161,000 times.

In July, Emhoff spoke out after Harris received enough delegate support to secure the Democratic nomination for president, after Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the presidential race following mounting pressure from Democrats.

The art school graduate also reshared a post from X, formerly Twitter, written by English singer Charli XCX to her Instagram Stories.

"kamala IS brat," Charli XCX's message read. "@charli_xcx gets it," Emhoff wrote over the screenshot.

Brat is Charli XCX's sixth studio album, which dropped on June 7. Its release sparked the "Brat summer" trend on social media—which embodies a carefree mindset and cool, edgy style.

Charli XCX explained what it means to be "Brat" in a video posted to TikTok.

"You are just that girl who is a little messy and maybe says dumb things sometimes, who feels herself but then also maybe has a breakdown, but parties through it," the Girl, So Confusing singer said. "It is honest, blunt, and a little bit volatile. That's Brat. Think Courtney Love in the '90s, Amy Winehouse in the early aughts, and Ke$ha in the 2010s."

Harris has since appeared to embrace "Brat," with her Kamala HQ X account resembling the same bright green color and font as the Brat album artwork.

A couple days after Emhoff shared Charli XCX's message, she encouraged her Instagram followers to vote.

"You already know what time it is," she wrote, alongside a link for users to register to vote. "This is not the time to sit back and defer the responsibility this is on all of us to show up, take action and vote for our future [sic]. We can be the change we want to see."
