Nick Cannon has spoken out after a social media post linking him to Vice President Kamala Harris and her economic plan went viral.

The TV host told his 6.9 million Instagram followers, "Leave me out of this!" amid discussions surrounding tax relief for families with newborn children.

The 43-year-old father of 12 found himself the butt of the joke after Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, unveiled her plans for expanding the child tax credit, worth up to $6,000, on Friday.

Cannon got in on the joke after user @___Colb___, a social media producer, brought him into the news on X, formerly Twitter.

User @unusual_whales initially told their 1.8 million followers, "JUST IN: Kamala Harris has announced she will implement a $6000 tax credit for newborns."

While reposting the message, @___Colb___ added a picture of Cannon before broadcasting it to 22,000 followers.

The post soon garnered a lot of attention, receiving 2.3 million views, 64,000 likes and more than 6,000 comments.

It didn't take long for Cannon to receive a host of replies from fans, friends and famous faces, with Amber Rose reacting with a string of laughter emoji.

Singer Macy Gray told him, "Here come all the moms telling IRS their 28 year old is a newborn—me included."

TV host and rapper Justina Valentine wrote, "LMFOAOOO," while Cheyenne Bryant added, "Yooo! I'm dying!"

Cannon became a father in April 2011 when his wife at the time, superstar Mariah Carey, welcomed twins, son Moroccan Scott and daughter Monroe, now 13. The couple split in 2014 after six years of marriage.

He shares sons Golden Sagon, 7, and Rise Messiah Cannon, 1, and daughter Powerful Queen, 3, with model and dancer Brittany Bell.

Cannon went on to have twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 3, and 1-year-old daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with DJ Abby De La Rosa.

He is also dad to son Legendary Love, 2, with Selling Sunset's Bre Tiesi and daughter Onyx Ice Cole, 1, with model LaNisha Cole.

He also had two children with model Alyssa Scott: son Zen, who died at 5 months old after being diagnosed with brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon, 1.

In 2022, Cannon told People magazine: "I'm so excited about all my kids. Constantly, from every aspect of it. From them getting citizen of the month awards in the first grade to the birth of the new ones."
