Blake Lively is once again under fire, this time for using a slur against transgender people.

The actress has been making headlines and receiving backlash this month over reported tension among the cast and crew of her new film It Ends With Us.

Her name once again went viral when X, formerly Twitter, user Josh Charles shared a screenshot on Sunday of an interview with Lively where she used a transgender slur.

The quote was from a 2012 interview with Elle magazine where she spoke about what gender she would like her future children to be.

"I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they'd better be t*******. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated," she said.

Charles shared an excerpt of the interview and captioned the post, which has been viewed three million times: "Sometimes ill be quietly going about my day and then ill remember the time blake lively said this to a journalist."

Newsweek contacted Lively's representatives by email for comment.

In the replies of Charles' post, people shared other times Lively allegedly used that slur and other ones in reference to transgender people.

Lively said in a 2009 interview with Allure magazine: I feel like a t***** a lot of the time. I don't know, I'm ... large? They put me in six-inch heels and I tower over every man. I've got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on ... I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I'm surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes."

Another person shared a snippet of an interview Lively did with her Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester with Nylon TV, where they were asked if there was any truth to the rumors that the pair did not get along.

"If you read the gossip magazines, everybody is dating everyone, everybody hates everyone, everybody has had like tons of plastic surgery and they're actually men and t*******. It's just like: you don't listen to the rumors," Lively said.

According to LGBTQ+ media advocacy organization, GLAAD, the correct term to refer to describe people whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth, is transgender or trans.

"People who are transgender may also use other terms, in addition to transgender, to describe their gender more specifically," GLAAD writes on its website.

"It is important to note that being transgender is not dependent upon physical appearance or medical procedures. A person can call themself transgender the moment they realize that their gender identity is different than the sex they were assigned at birth."

While Lively has repeatedly used transgender slurs in the past, she also came out in support of transgender people serving in the U.S. military after former President Donald Trump sought to ban them during his term in the White House.

Lively wrote on Instagram in July 2017 in a since-deleted post: "THIS is America. WE the people. ALL THE PEOPLE. Today I stand with our fellow citizens. No human being is a burden. I believe in equality. In freedom. In opportunity. In kindness, acceptance, and fairness. I believe in this country, so I, and many others, sign the petition linked in the bio. Please join."
