John Lennon and Yoko Ono's son Sean Ono Lennon has come to the defense of Doug Emhoff's daughter.

Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, of his kids—Ella Emhoff and Cole Emhoff—discussing the 2024 presidential election. Lennon addressed negative comments on the video, reshared by X user @MarioNawfal.

"I think people triggered by this video are blinded by partisans bias. I mean as politicians go this is pretty sweet," Lennon began his lengthy post on Wednesday. "Almost none of the judgmental comments are by people who have any clue what it would be like filming something, anything, under the magnifying glass of national scrutiny. Just saying 'Hi my name is …' can be very challenging. At the very least you can tell his kids are comfortable with him, and he is with them."

The 48-year-old continued, "I make fun of politicians all day and night, but this is not the video that would make me do that. Also—y'all are way too judgmental of the daughter's look. She seems like a cool geek. There are way worse things to be."

"There are serious things we can attack politicians for," Lennon concluded. "Having an awkward and sweet family should not be one of them."

At the time of publication, Lennon's message had racked up more than 15,000 views.

In the replies, many praised The Beatles star's son, while some questioned his commentary.

"Well said Sean," @OdetteMason13 said.

"Agreed. I think kids should be left out of it, even if they're young adults. It's not their choice to be thrown into this atmosphere just because their parents are politicians. And if they're supportive of their parents, that's awesome," @DiedSuddenlyNws wrote.

"Amen. I think she's cool and in a way this has given Kamala more points imo. Attacking people you don't understand, especially young people, are egregious on all too many levels. Especially attacking people on the basis of how they see themselves," @theinkbubble shared.

"Agree, 100%. He did a great job, most of the speeches were cringe and I couldn't finish watching them but I watched his whole speech and he crushed it," @Jessica75940402 chimed in.

"True but these are 'the ones' calling the other side weird," @Spytkop added, to which Lennon replied, "Two wrongs don't make a right. And I don't remembering her calling anyone weird, maybe I missed it."

"She is weird," @KnowItA98121900 said, which also prompted a response from Lennon. "Okay anon," he replied.

Newsweek reached out to Ella Emhoff via email for comment.

In the video, Cole Emhoff and Ella Emhoff did a Q&A amid the Democratic National Convention (DNC), which began on Monday and ends Thursday.

"This is my sister, Ella Emhoff. Ella, what do you think about your dad these days?" Cole Emhoff can be heard asking off camera.

"You know, I think he's a very empowering person," the model said. "And I think we're really going to see that with his speech, which I feel like I'm going to cry. I just have a little feeling."

"Is it as weird to you as it is to me turning the news on and seeing his goofy face on live television?" Cole Emhoff asked.

"Yes, I don't think that'll ever be normal, you know? I think it's one of those things that even like seeing Kamala on TV, I just—it's like, they're my parents," the artist said. "They're just Doug and Kamala."

As Ella Emhoff was speaking, her dad walked in the room.

"Oh, Mr. U.S.A.!" she said, while Cole Emhoff added, "Doug in the flesh. Dad in the flesh."

As she gave him a hug, Cole Emhoff asked how he was feeling about his DNC speech.

"I'm feeling great, but I gotta deliver … I worked really hard on this," the lawyer said. "It's a lot of practice. So the words are good, I just need to deliver them, to do it justice for her."

Vice president Kamala Harris is the Democratic presidential nominee running with VP pick Tim Walz. President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign last month and endorsed Harris following pressure from the Democrats to drop out.

In his speech given Tuesday evening at the United Center in Chicago, Doug Emhoff praised his wife.

"That's who she is. Whenever she's needed, however she's needed, Kamala rises to the occasion," he said, adding, "And she did it for me and our family. And now that the country needs her, she's showing you what we already know—she's ready to lead. She brings both joy and toughness to this task, and she will be a great president we will all be proud of."

"America, in this election, you have to decide who to trust with your family's future," the second gentleman added. "I trusted Kamala with our family's future. It was the best decision I ever made."

Doug Emhoff and Harris met on a blind date in 2013 and wed on August 22, 2014. Ella Emhoff and Cole Emhoff lovingly call her "Momala," a nickname they gave her because they didn't like the word "stepmom."
