Brittany Mahomes recently revealed that her daughter Sterling is following in her parent's athletic footsteps – with gymnastics!
It seems 3-year-old Sterling was inspired to try her hand at the sport after watching Team USA dominate the 2024 Paris Olympics. Brittany proudly shared the milestone on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, August 21, posting an adorable picture of Sterling dressed in a red USA-themed leotard, writing, "First day of gymnastics 😍. In her U.S.A. leotard 🔥."
The youngster's leotard – which eagle-eyed fans will notice is similar to the one Simone Biles wore during her vault final – was accompanied by red Adidas sweatpants with ruffles on the legs, as well as red and white striped Sambas.
The 28-year-old mom followed up with another post shortly after Sterling wearing a light blue oversized backpack, appropriately captioned, "had to have her own backpack😂." The tot stood with her hands holding the straps, smiling wide at the camera.
Sterling's love for sports is no surprise, given her athletic roots. Her dad, Patrick Mahomes, is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, while her mom, Brittany, is a former professional soccer player who played in Iceland for UMF Afturelding before turning to other fitness and business ventures. The couple has been married since March 2022 and shares another child, son Bronze, who is 20 months old. The pair announced their third pregnancy on July 12, with the newest addition being a baby girl, as the couple shared on Instagram with an adorable tic-tac-toe themed announcement.
The soon-to-be mom of three has yet to update fans on how Sterling's first gymnastics session went. However, given Brittany's usual transparency on social media, it's likely we'll hear all about it in the near future.
