The Bey Hive and Swifties are hoping Beyoncé and/or Taylor Swift will surprise fans at the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Thursday.

Neither pop superstar has indicated any travel to Chicago for the last day of the DNC but doesn't appear to have any other public appearances scheduled either. Fans on social media have also noticed a gap in the DNC schedule, which some believe could be allotted time for either the Shake It Off or Single Ladies singers — or both.

Swift, 34, finished the European leg of her Eras Tour on Tuesday. Reddit users claim her private jet has since returned to Nashville — which is a little over an hour and a half flight to The Windy City.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé, 42, launched her new whisky brand Sir Davis on Tuesday. Her Renaissance World Tour ended in October. Since then, Vice President Kamala Harris has utilized Beyoncé's 2016 song Freedom in her campaign ads and as her rally walkout sound.

Harris will deliver a history-making speech on Thursday with performances from Pink and The Chicks. Both Swift and Beyoncé have songs with The Chicks: Swift's 2019 track Soon You'll Get Better and Beyoncé's 2016 Daddy Lessons.

Newsweek has contacted representatives for Swift and Beyoncé for comment.

Taylor Swift In Politics

Swift's political views have evolved significantly over the years. For much of her early career, Swift avoided discussing politics publicly. She maintained a neutral stance and focused primarily on her music until October 2018 when she spoke out on Instagram. Swift posted a message endorsing Democratic candidates in Tennessee's midterm elections and criticizing Republican candidates for their policies. This was a significant shift from her previous stance and was credited with influencing voter turnout.

Leading up to the 2020 presidential election, Swift continued to advocate for Democratic candidates. She used her social media platforms to support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and she spoke out against Donald Trump's administration.

Swift has also been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, including supporting the Equality Act and expressing her support for the LGBTQ+ community in her music and public statements.

Beyoncé In Politics

Beyoncé supported Barack Obama in his 2008 presidential campaign. She performed at his inauguration and continued to express support for his policies. In 2016, she endorsed Hillary Clinton and performed at a fundraiser for Clinton.

The Cuff It singer has been a prominent advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement. Her 2016 Super Bowl performance, which included references to the Black Panther Party, and her 2016 album Lemonade — which includes Freedom — addressed issues of racial identity and social justice.

In the 2020 election, Beyoncé endorsed Biden and Harris, using her platform to encourage voting and political engagement. The singer has addressed various social justice issues through her music and public statements. She has spoken out against police brutality, racial inequality, and gender inequality. Her work often reflects a commitment to these causes, blending activism with her artistic expression.
