These ones are easier to catch...", the post wasn't just a hit for its creativity — fans were struck by how much the 20-year-old zookeeper resembles his iconic dad.

But Robert's connection with crocs isn't just for social media. Like his father, the young Irwin has had his fair share of real encounters with the reptiles. Just hours before appearing at the Logie Awards on Sunday, August 18, the famous TV personality was out "catching crocodiles" in North Queensland, which led to a minor mishap. "I just got my head smashed into a tree," he shared while on the red carpet. "I was on a croc's head, it was a big make-up job but I'm here, I'm excited and we are pumped and I get to do it with one of my best mates, which is awesome."
This recent episode isn't the first time Robert has mirrored his father's experiences with critter escapades. A resurfaced video from 2020 shows him being bitten on the face by a wild carpet python — the same species that once bit his dad. Sharing the footage on X (formerly Twitter), the wildlife photographer noted the eerie similarity, "Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart. I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don't quite go to plan 😂."
Like his father, Robert handled the bite with a mix of surprise and humor, quickly regaining his composure. "Right, so I'll get this cleaned up a little bit," he joked, blood trickling from his face. Followers praised his bravery and commitment to wildlife, calling him "just a chip off the old block" and encouraging him to "keep on respecting that nature."
