Justin and Hailey Bieber have officially chosen the name Jack Blues Bieber for their newborn son, which has sparked speculation about the name's significance.
There is some speculation that the name Jack might be a tribute to Justin's father, Jeremy Bieber, whose middle name is also Jack. However, the couple has not yet confirmed the reasoning behind their son's name.
Although Jeremy, 49, and Justin, 30, didn't always have a close relationship during the singer's childhood — he was primarily raised by his mother, Pattie Mallette — their bond has grown stronger over the years. In a 2015 interview with Billboard, Justin reflected on their rocky past, explaining that Jeremy left when he was just 4 years old but eventually returned on Father's Day. "There's a misconception that he's this deadbeat dad, but he's been in my life since," Justin said at the time.
In 2016, Justin even admitted to GQ that he felt "a lot closer" to his father than his mother, despite their challenging start. Jeremy has since become a more present figure in Justin's life, making the choice to honor him in his own son's name particularly meaningful.
The 'STAY' hitmaker's mom, Pattie, 49, had expressed her excitement about becoming a grandmother back in May with an enthusiastic Instagram post. "Oh my gosh, I'm going to be a grandma! Justin and Hailey, you are going to be the best parents ever," she wrote in the caption.
"I also think they will be great parents, just like you will be a perfect grandmother. WE LOVE YOU AND ARE EXCITED 🥰," one fan said in the comments. "Justin will be a good dad," another noted of the singer.
The couple announced the birth of their first child on Friday, August 23 via Instagram which initially sparked speculation about the significance behind their son's name.
