A video of Adam Sandler discussing his fashion choices has gone viral online, with people commending him for being so down to earth.

In 2021, Vogue named the 50 First Dates star that year's "fashion icon" and "Sandlercore" quickly became a movement within the fashion community. The comedian's laid-back style has become particularly popular among younger generations, who often replicate it by wearing basketball shorts and baggy polo necks.

Sandler has now shared insight into how he dresses after being interviewed by fashion influencer and TikToker Mystery Fashionist. In the video, Sandler is wearing a navy Fila windbreaker, blue shorts, a blue polo and mismatched sneakers with socks pulled up.

Since being uploaded to TikTok, the video has received over 5 million views and after being shared on X (formerly Twitter), it has been viewed over 11 million times.

Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Sandler for comment on Tuesday.

In the video, the TikTok interviewer asks Sandler if he's "always got that drip." "Drip" is a slang term used to describe something that is cool, stylish or fashionable.

"It just happens, I didn't really think it through. There's ah, sneakers, there's some goofy shorts, I wear this to cover this," he said, pointing at his jacket and his stomach before pointing at his polo neck, "and then I've got this, to cover more."

Sandler then told the interviewer that "not much thought" goes into his fashion decisions.

"Whatever is in the closet I grab it. I think I've got a bunch of the same socks, underwear is kind of similar too. I grab it, I don't think about it much. Most people make fun of me in my family but I keep moving," he explained.

The TikToker also asked the actor for the five fashion pieces he couldn't live without, to which Sandler replied: "Sometimes my wife gets me nice socks that I throw on. You know, I got my kids on them and stuff. Sneakers that fit. Yeah, it don't matter if they're dirty or not, as long as they're fitting and not hurting.

"These shorts are a little shorter than usual ... I don't know what the hell they are. Goofy shirts. Threw this s*** on," he said, referring to his windbreaker, "because I think I got this like five years ago and I was like, 'Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that thing.'"

The video has been incredibly well-received online, with many people praising Sandler for his demeanor.

"Adam Sandler has always been himself and that is so nice," one person wrote on TikTok.

"he is so genuineeeee love him," said another.

"Adam Sandler really the most doen [sic] to earth celebrity out there," an X user commented.

"He is just a normal guy who happens to be famous," another X user wrote.

This video comes after Sandler addressed the viral fashion movement inspired by his style at the New York City premiere of his new standup special Love You.

"You know, this is an accidental thing but here I am wearing goofy clothes, and I don't know. I don't think about it," he told People.

When Sandler learned that those who wear his trademark long, baggy shorts with a crop top have been dubbed "Madam Sandler," he responded: "Crop top, I used to wear when I was young. I used to wear the half-shirt. Now, it would not be great for anybody, but I get it. Comfortable. That sounds like a good outfit."
