Travis Kelce is now a seasoned media performer, but he "choked up" before hosting Saturday Night Live, according to his brother Jason Kelce.

During the season 3 premiere of the brothers' podcast New Heights on Wednesday, which featured guest Adam Sandler, the former Philadelphia Eagles star spilled details about Travis Kelce's SNL hosting debut.

"You should have seen him in the first rehearsal," Jason Kelce said. "I was there the day before watching him get ready, and he comes out that door and he starts choking up. And I'm like, 'There's nobody here, this ain't live, like what are we choking up for?' And he was saying like standing behind that door, seeing the signatures, all of that, it fully hit him. And it's just such a moment."

In response, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said he's a "crybaby," adding, "When I'm in on something, I'm so f***ing in on it, and it just took it over, man. It just took me over."

Travis Kelce hosted SNL on March 4, 2023 during season 48 of the hit sketch comedy show. He also made a cameo appearance during the season 49 premiere in October, where he went public with his romance with girlfriend Taylor Swift at an after-party.

Travis Kelce said he doesn't like watching himself on camera over fears he'll "ruin" the memory, but revealed he did watch his SNL monologue.

"That was a moment that I wanted to remember forever … Being behind that door and being on that stage and being in that studio was just so iconic."

He added that there was one thing he told himself repeatedly while hosting. "'Travis, don't fall down these f***ing steps,'" he recalled, "'Do not fall down these steps—you are live, dude, you are live.'"

Travis Kelce has been dabbling in the entertainment industry recently while still playing for the Chiefs. In October, the 34-year-old will begin hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, a spinoff of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? on Amazon Prime Video.

"I grew up loving game shows, and I'm excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with Are you Smarter than a Celebrity?," Travis Kelce told Amazon in April. "The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone's favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I'm just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up."

The Ohio native is also in talks to be in the action comedy Loose Cannons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He stars in FX's Grotesquerie and has a role in Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2. In addition, the brothers recently landed a new podcast deal worth over $100 million.

He has even appeared on stage in front of thousands on the Eras Tour with Swift.

On the podcast, Sandler gave listeners a sneak peek into what they can expect to see from Travis Kelce in the Happy Gilmore sequel.

"Travis, we're going to have fun because the scene you're doing is with so many great golfers—it's going to be amazing," he said. "You're going to be funny as hell."

Newsweek reached out to Travis Kelce's publicist via email for additional comment.
