It's always great when you can make a vintage find work for you. It's even better when that vintage find has already been on magazine covers.

Brooke Shields' youngest daughter, Grier Henchy, made quite an impression when she graduated high school in the dress her mother wore for her first wedding — with a few alterations, of course. 18-year-old Grier accessorized the dress with a white choker necklace and big pearl earrings.

The dress made its original debut when Shields, 59, married tennis star Andre Agassi in 1997. "We had to re-bone it a little bit so it was tight and sleek," says the college student, who spoke to People after starting her first semester at Wake Forest University in South Carolina. Her older sister Rowan attends the same school. They also updated and modernized the gown by removing "all the poof." To make it less like a wedding dress, they removed the sleeves.

Shields, 59, was full of pride when talking to the outlet about her daughter's fashion statement." She looked great in it. It's such an honor when they want to wear your stuff. Normally they don't think I'm cool."

Shields shares daughters Grier and Rowan with her second husband, director Chris Henchy, but she still looks back very warmly at her marriage with Agassi. "He's a good guy, so to me it was really like a big full circle moment," she told the outlet. "It honors something and I think that's healthy." The couple divorced in 1999.

In an interview with AARP, Shields talked about how Agassi helped her separate from her controlling mother, who was her manager for the first era of her acting career. "I wasn't strong enough to separate from my mother on my own. I kept falling back in. With Andre, [...] he was so famous and number 1 in the world. Everywhere we went, he had tons of bodyguards. I could sit back because it wasn't my world."
