Channing Tatum fired back at ex-wife Jenna Dewan in the latest move in the former couple's longtime battle over profits from Magic Mike.

In court documents obtained by People on Wednesday, August 28, Tatum's lawyers condemned Dewan's most recent filing from that same day — which accused Tatum of using "every trick in the book to stall this case from getting to a trial" — as "solely designed to delay the upcoming trial." Tatum's lawyers insisted that since the divorce filing in 2018, the Blink Twice star "has made exhausted efforts to settle all issues in this matter without litigation."

"Tatum has made countless settlement proposals, attended multiple mediations, his attorneys have prepared numerous drafts of a proposed judgment, and he has tried to resolve issues directly," his lawyers continued.

They also called Dewan's August 16 request — asking that Tatum's legal team at Glaser Weil and Blank Rome be dismissed due to a conflict of interest — "a frivolous filing that has no basis in law or fact" and alleged it was "a transparent attempt to divert the Court's attention from her willful violation of her Court ordered deposition and discovery deadlines." Tatum's lawyers not only ask that Dewan's request be denied, but also that she "should be sanctioned in the sum of $20,000."

Tatum wrote in his declaration in opposition that Dewan's request was "just another delay tactic to prolong our divorce case."

Tatum's latest filing was in response to Dewan's legal team's August 28 filing that accused the Magic Mike XXL star of "depriving Jenna of a fair and equal share of the community estate, and prejudicing her every day that this case continues."

Her legal team also says that Tatum's team should have "disclosed his legal team Glaser Weil's extensive and ongoing involvement with martial transactions related to the community's Magic Mike intellectual property."

Dewan's August 16 filing described it as "shocking" that Tatum acquired this team "five months before trial," seeing as while the pair were married, "that very same counsel created an extensive web of LLCs, each of which is at least partially owned by Channing, for the sole purpose of transacting business related to the community's Magic Mike intellectual property."

Dewan and Tatum, who met filming Step Up, tied the knot in July 2009. They welcomed their daughter Everly in May 2013. The couple announced their separation in April 2018, and Dewan officially filed for divorce that same year.

In November 2019 the couple were declared legally single, though they have continued to dispute over money. The crux of the issue seems to be that Dewan believes she is entitled to half of the money Tatum made from his Magic Mike movie franchise, because she and her lawyer argue it was developed using "marital funds."

Tatum has since gone on to become engaged to Zoë Kravitz. Dewan has since become engaged to Steve Kazee, with whom she shares son Callum, 4, and daughter Rhiannon, who was born in June 2024.
