Sorry, Mark Zuckerberg, but Dave Portnoy is just not impressed.

The Barstool Sports founder, 47, had some harsh words to share in response to Zuckerberg's eccentric Fourth of July celebration post. "You can't go from supremely uncool to cool by just trying hard. Zuck will always be uncool. I refuse to entertain the possibility he will ever do anything cool," Portnoy shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Portnoy had been responding to the Instagram post Zuckerberg, 40, shared for the Fourth of July. "Happy birthday, America!" the Facebook CEO wrote alongside a video of himself surfing in a tuxedo while holding an American flag and taking a big swig of beer. Zuckerberg maneuvers his board through the waves to the tune of Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A."

Some comments on the video echoed Portnoy's sentiments, like one that read, "If A.I. can talk like a human why can't @zuck be like human?" However, many of the Instagram comments were complimentary. "Yep, that's our genius," one Instagram user wrote, while another quipped, "When you gotta conference meeting but couldn't miss the waves @zuck 👏 doing it the American way."

Some X users stood up for Zuckerberg in Portnoy's comments too, writing, "As much as I want to hate this...I don't. If this isn't AI this is pretty cool." Another X user responded, "Dave plz don't be jealous on the timeline." In Zuckerberg's defense, as of Friday, July 5, the patriotic video had garnered over 700,000 likes.

This is quite the difference from the comments on Zuckerberg's July 2021 Instagram post, which saw the businessman riding an electric hydrofoil surfboard to John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads," while, you guessed it, waving a giant American flag.

"AI generated," one commenter posted. Another wrote, "If an alien was living inside of a human body and trying to figure out what Americans do...😂." One particularly harsh comment read, "This is someone that seriously begs for attention because they didn't receive it in childhood."
