Katy Perry has broken down over Orlando Bloom in an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

The "Woman's World" singer got emotional in the latest episode—which dropped on Wednesday—when host Alex Cooper asked about her previous split from the actor.

The 13-time Grammy Award nominee, 39, and the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 47, first sparked dating rumors in January 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party. After going Instagram official in May 2016, the pair broke up in February 2017 before getting back together a year later. The couple got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove in 2020. Bloom is also a dad to Flynn Bloom, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

"Who initiated getting back together?" Cooper asked.

"I was doing a show that was close to where he was on vacation, and I was like, 'I'll pop over!'" Perry replied.

The pop star noted she was "in a bad state" at the time and added: "We all have our strengths and then our opportunities for growths. But one of his strengths are when I crumble, he can step in and be that anchor. Because I'm usually just alpha, alpha, you know? I'm like testosterone, testosterone. 'I got this, I don't need any help.' But actually, I do need help. I do need a partner."

The former American Idol judge paused as she choked up. "That got me," she told Cooper.

"I went on a guided journey the other day. And for as strong as I am, I was like, 'No I do need. I do need. I do have needs,'" Perry said, as she whispered, "And I do need help sometimes."

"So it was a beautiful revelation, it was the one thing I got. And I did that like last week, like I can be so strong. But yeah like everybody..."

"Needs help," Cooper finished her sentence.

Newsweek reached out to Bloom's team via email for comment.

During the podcast, Perry gushed over what initially drew her to the Englishman.

"He's got a free spirit, he's super healthy, and he wants me to be healthy— sometimes that can be annoying—but it's all for the good. He shows up, he's loyal, he's a Capricorn, he's not scared... He can get his hands dirty, he loves the elements, he's spontaneous and he checks a lot of boxes," she shared.

In an interview with Trevor Noah in April, Bloom revealed how they juggle their busy lives.

"I wouldn't change it for anything, even when sometimes it feels like, 'How do we do this?' Because we've got these two giant careers and lives, and hers is even, you know... it's like a universe sometimes," he said. "But I think I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sand pit and be like... we're just gonna build a sandcastle."

Perry and Bloom were supposed to get married in 2020, but it fell through due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an interview with the U.K.'s Heart Radio last month, Perry held back from giving too many details about their upcoming nuptials.

"It was literally like I was going to get married on February 27 of 2020 and then it all happened," she said. "COVID happened and now I have a really large credit at a venue I'm going to use. I just can't tell you more."
