King Kylie is back!
Kylie Jenner showed off a new, teal hairdo in an Instagram post shared on Thursday, September 5. In the carousel of images — and a video — Jenner kept the camera up-close, really highlighting her hair. She captioned the post, "teal the end of time."
Jenner sported simple makeup in the post, and wore a cut-up white T-shirt, accessorizing with silver jewelry. Fans immediately took to the comments to praise her new hair color, with one posting, "KING KYLIE BACK AS SHE SHOULD." Another followed suit, commenting, "the king is back and better than ever."
Fans had clearly been craving the return of King Kylie, with one commenting, "I smelled the King Kylie era 🩵," while another shared, "oh we are so back." Before giving fans a closer look on Thursday, Jenner was spotted sporting the blue hair while out in Los Angeles the evening before, per photos obtained by People.
The name "King Kylie" refers to an era — beginning in 2014 — in the reality star's life, marked by vibrant hair colors, bold fashion choices, statement makeup, and an increased and open presence on social media.
"King Kylie" was the mom of two's social media handle at the time, which was inspired by her then-boyfriend Tyga, who went by "King Gold Chains." Back in January 2024, the Kylie Cosmetics founder teased bringing her alter ego back in a series of photos in which she sported bubblegum pink hair.
Similar to the way she presented her teal hair, Jenner kept her makeup simple and wore a gray tank top to show off her new look in a series of car selfies in January, captioning them, "hiiiii remember me."
The pink look didn't last very long, which has fans worried the teal hair is just a tease as well. "Stop playing with my fellings 😩," one person commented, while another emphatically posted, "WE WANT HER BACK!😍🔥."
The hairstyle refresh came about a month after Jenner opened up to British Vogue about feeling "misunderstood" and how the pressure of being a reality TV star from a young age led to cosmetic procedures she has come to regret.
"I don't know who I would've been without all these eyes on me," she told the publication, adding, "I just have to be gentle with myself because although I carried so much responsibility in the moment, I was just trying to do what was best for me. Looking back, I'm like, 'God, I was 17, 18.'"
