Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan who rose to fame with Young Thug died Thursday at age 34.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed the news to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A cause of death is unknown at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, the outlet reports.

Earlier Thursday, the Medical Examiner's Office told Newsweek "at this time, we cannot confirm or deny any information regarding Dequantes Devontay Lamar."

Fellow rapper Boosie Badazz posted to X on Thursday, claiming Rich Homie Quan had overdosed.

"JUST TALKED TO YOU BRA," he wrote. "Never go forget yo smile n the way talked n of course yo music."

Rich Homie Quan's final Instagram post came on Monday, in which he eerily captioned photos of him wearing glasses, "Vision clear even through the BS."

Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan initially gained attention together through their joint work, including their collaboration on the popular mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1. However, their relationship soured, leading to public feuds and subliminal shots in their music and social media. Details about the specifics of their beef can vary, but it generally revolves around perceived betrayals and differing views on their respective careers.

Rich Homie Quan rapper has also been referenced numerous times in Yung Thug's YSL RICO trial. On Tuesday, Young Thug doubled over in laughter after a witness brought up his alleged disputes with Rich Homie Quan.

State witness Kenneth "Lil Woody" Copeland was questioned by a prosecutor about whether Young Thug had problems with Rich Homie Quan "bringing members of his gang to his apartment." Instead of responding, Copeland turned to Young Thug and asked, "Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie?"

Born on October 4, 1989, in Atlanta, Rich Homie Quan was exposed to music at an early age and gained prominence in the early 2010s with his unique blend of Southern rap and melodic hooks.

He initially played baseball and had aspirations of making it as a professional athlete, but a series of setbacks led him to focus on music. He started rapping seriously around 2011 and soon began to make a name for himself in the local hip-hop scene.

His breakthrough came with the release of his mixtape Still Goin In in 2013, which was well-received and featured popular tracks like Type of Way. This success was followed by his mixtape I Promise I Will Never Stop Going In, which solidified his status in the hip-hop community.

In 2014, Rich Homie Quan released his mixtape Family & Mula, which included hits such as Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh). His collaboration with Young Thug on the mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1 further boosted his visibility in the rap world. His debut studio album, Rich As In Spirit, was released in 2018. The album included singles like Ponytail and 34.

Rich Homie Quan has faced various legal issues over the years, including arrests related to drug possession and other offenses.
