Travis Kelce's football skills helped make the Chiefs and the NFL what they are today — but according to fans, his new hairstyle didn't exactly make the cut.

On Thursday, September 5, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end debuted a wildly different look at the Chiefs season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. The Super Bowl champion's new look isn't such a clear-cut style: in the front, it looks like he has a blunt bang or mullet, while the back is tapered into a round shape. Overall, Kelce's new look resembles somewhat of a bowl cut. Kelce also sported a prominent mustache to accompany his haircut.

NFL Memes -- a social media account dedicated to poking fun at the league and its players -- took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to troll Kelce on his new hairdo.

On Thursday, the account posted a 15-second clip of Kelce warming up for the game on their Twitter page.

In the video, Kelce's cut can be seen in all its glory as he shimmies and runs on the field.

"Travis Kelce went to the barber and said, '"Just f--k my s--t up, fam,"' NFL Memes captioned the clip.

The dramatic change even took back the NFL commentators. "Travis Kelce is giving us a stash, no beard, what? Everything changed; we got a new look!" one of the broadcasters exclaimed in the clip.

Fans did not hold back in the comments section as they roasted the University of Cincinnati alum's new hairstyle.

Another individual wrote on X, "It's awful and that mustache," and included a teeth-gritting emoji.

One user chose to look on the bright side of the situation, writing, "This haircut for real is terrible, but I mean he's got [girlfriend] Taylor [Swift] and none of we do, so there's that."

Between the mustache and the haircut, many people compared Kelce to other figures like Uncle Rico from the 2004 comedy Napoleon Dynamite and music legend Freddie Mercury.

"Man starting to look like Uncle Rico...," a user on X commented with a picture of the character holding a football.

Another individual commented, "I mean...he's got this Freddie Mercury thing going."

This isn't the first time fans have commented on Kelce's new look -- last month, when he first started training for the season, Kelce debuted a closer cropped cut and mustache.

While Kelce's popstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift, has not publicly commented about the athlete's new look, she was pictured hand in hand with Kelce at last night's game.
