Vice President Kamala Harris' stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, returned to the runway on Monday, walking for the Coach Spring-Summer 2025 show at New York Fashion Week.

The model is the 25-year-old daughter of Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, and film producer Kerstin Emhoff. Harris' family has reemerged in the spotlight since she declared she would run for president in the 2024 election.

Emhoff has become a New York Fashion Week front-row regular. She has been spotted at events such as Proenza Schouler's spring 2025 show, the Susan Alexandra X Rachel Antonoff dog show and the opening night of the Damson Madder pop-up store.

She has also taken to the runway numerous times since she signed with IMG Models after President Joe Biden's inauguration in 2021, modeling for the likes of Balenciaga and Maisie Wilen. And on Monday, she showed off her modeling skills once again.

Newsweek contacted Emhoff by emailing a spokesperson for the Harris campaign on Tuesday outside of normal working hours.

As Emhoff took to the runway on Monday, her outfit had a fun tourist vibe as she wore a custom "I Heart NY" t-shirt with various words written on it, under a black blazer. This was paired with a black leather miniskirt, a black baseball cap, black ballet flats and a chain-link-strap shoulder bag.

According to Women's Wear Daily, the creative director of Coach New York, Stuart Vevers, said the spring 2025 collection is about "celebrating the energy of New York City and the spirit of its people."

Emhoff's runway appearance comes after she announced in August that she was pausing her Soft Hands Knitting Club, a knitting group open to the public, to ensure her and others' safety. Emhoff posted a video on Instagram announcing the news.

"I just wanted to quickly come talk about Knit Club and address how it's moving forward. Um, unfortunately, with everything going on right now, I am unable to conduct them, just to protect myself and other club members," Ella said.

"The smartest thing is to just hold off until things calm down. But uh, yeah, it has been amazing working on this and meeting all of you and has just felt so special to just build this little community, and I'm going to keep working on ways to make it more accessible and keep—keep building it while I'm not able to properly teach and host these.

"So, yeah, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been here with me so far. It's been pretty amazing. And I will be back, back to knitting—teaching knitting—I'm still knitting."

She concluded the video by saying "thank you" one last time, forming a heart with her hands and saying she would be "back soon."

Harris is said to have a close relationship with her stepchildren, who call her "Momala." The vice president's blended family has staunchly supported her amid Republican attacks. After footage of Ohio Senator JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, calling Harris and other members of the Democratic Party "childless cat ladies" resurfaced, her stepdaughter pushed back.

"How can you be 'childless' when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I?" Emhoff said in an Instagram story, referring to her brother. "I love my three parents."
