Kate Gosselin is responding to shocking allegations made by her son, Collin Gosselin.

Earlier this month, Colin, 20, accused Kate, 49, of zip-tying his hands and feet together and locking him in a room with cameras and a mattress on the floor as a child in an interview with U.S. Sun. In a conversation with Fox News on Wednesday, September 11, Gosselin's lawyer responded to the allegations.

"She has no comment because it's not going to change the past," said her lawyer, Richard Puelo. "And I don't believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form."

Puelo continued, saying, "I can assure you that if she was harassing or abusing her child, given her public exposure, the authorities would have taken the time and removed him from the family and put him in special services and would have probably had [Kate] charged with abuse. None of that happened."

The world first got to know the Gosselins on TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, a docuseries capturing to day-to-day lives of Kate and her then husband, Jon, and their twin and sextuplet children. The series, which was a spin-off of two documentaries — Surviving Sextuplets and Twins and One Year Later — aired from 2007 to 2009, until Jon and Kate announced their divorce.

The series was later renamed Kate Plus 8 in 2010, and aired until 2017.

In the aforementioned interview with U.S. Sun, Jon supported Collin, and explained he wasn't aware of the alleged abuse until Collin told him. He did, however, remember learning of the alleged room when Kate's old house was purchased.

"My friends' in-laws bought our house," he said, "and one time they asked me 'Why is there a room in the basement with a bed and a lock on the outside?'"

Jon was granted custody of Collin, and his twin sister, Hannah back in 2018, after Kate allegedly had him institutionalized for two years in a mental health rehabilitation facility. Collin has since been estranged from Kate, and his six other siblings.
