Lana Gomez has poked fun at her comedian husband for using her as fodder in his stand-up specials.

The Los Angeles artist is married to Sebastian Maniscalco and says poking fun at each other is the secret to their relationship. The pair appeared in a video by People ahead of his It Ain't Right tour, where they spoke about their marriage and the fact Maniscalco talks about her often in his comedy routines.

A clip in the video showed him complaining about how Gomez lets the gas run low in the car before filling up and also joked about how slowly she walks.

"Every time I get in [to the car], If I have more than 40 miles I'm fine to take the kids to school and do a couple things, and then I'll get gas. But he starts getting anxiety when he gets when it gets low," Gomez said.

Maniscalco explained: "It's my biggest fear, if I've got to pull over... Nothing good happens on the side of the road... I never want to be that guy."

Gomez laughed as she said: "He makes me sound dumber than I am. I can be silly and an airhead," and added that sometimes she reacts in shock to his comedy about her.

He said: "Sometimes you're lying, it's contrasts," Maniscalco explained about his comedy technique.

Newsweek contacted Maniscalco's representatives by email for comment.

Gomez saw the humor in it, even though sometimes it did not always paint her in the best light.

People in the comments loved the banter between the couple.

"Perfect together! Laughter is the key to a healthy marriage!" wrote @CRJR94.

"My hubby of 42 years is always laughing at me and with me. Maybe more laughing at me! Makes life easier," added @CynthiaMelito-lp1gn.

And @rickychea8543 commented: "I think Lana should get royalties for providing great comedy material. Nice interview. Thanks for sharing."

Gomez is a Los Angeles-based artist who graduated in art from the University of Tennessee. Her work appears in many places, including a mural at a children's play space, a custom Gibson Guitar auctioned off at the prestigious Naples Winter Wine Festival, a collaboration with Ivan Preciado and a 10-foot guitar sculpture for the city of West Hollywood, according to her website.

The couple met at the gym and are parents to a daughter and a son.

Maniscalco became known after multiple appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He has headlined many sold-out comedy tours and acted in films such as Green Book, The Irishman and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
