Friends star Aisha Tyler has revealed how one scene in the hit comedy was "impossible to shoot" because the stars were laughing so hard.

The actress played Ross' love interest, Charlie Wheeler, in the ninth and 10th series of the show, appearing in nine episodes. She shared that in her last ever installment there was a scene that took them 14 takes because she and Ross actor David Schwimmer kept getting the giggles.

She told The Independent: "The very last episode that I did, when I break up with Ross and get back with Greg Kinnear's character, my ex-boyfriend, there's a scene where we're talking, and David comes up in the middle of the conversation and says that we're making him uncomfortable. It took us forever to shoot that scene – like 14 takes.

"I think that the British term is 'corpsing'? I was in tears. We were all in absolute tears, including David. It was just impossible to shoot because we were laughing so hard."

Tyler, 53, said she had a blast shooting the episode, entitled The One With Ross's Grant. She added that having done nine episodes when she had initially only been booked for four, it was "already a bonus" for her.

The actress featured in another fan fave episode of Friends The One Where Ross Is Fine.

The episode is in the final series of the show and saw Ross knocking back margaritas to help him cope with the fact that long-term love Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) had got together with Joey (Matt LeBlanc).

Tyler said it was another one that had the cast in stitches, and that they would "break" as soon as the director called cut. "We all immediately erupted into laughter at the end of every take," she said.

The actress joined Friends in 2003, the year before it wrapped up after 10 seasons. She has previously admitted to battling the nerves before her first day, telling ET that her "knees were knocking" on set.

However, she revealed that the Friends stars made her feel at home and that the late Matthew Perry reached out to her.

She said: "As we're backstage, Matthew Perry just leans in and goes, 'Get ready for your life to change.' It was a really sweet, kind thing to say to someone who's just petrified and just trying not to pee on herself a little bit from fear."

Newsweek has emailed representatives for Tyler and Schwimmer for comment.
