Nicola Coughlan's debut at the 2024 Emmy Awards shifted from a glamorous entrance to a scene of slight chaos. The 37-year-old Bridgerton star dazzled in a futuristic silver dress, but it wasn't her outfit that sparked the most conversation. Instead, it was the flurry of "rude" interruptions she faced while trying to pose for photographers at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

As Coughlan stood ready for her close-up on Sunday, September 15, a few attendees wandered into her shot. The red carpet blunders were captured in a 17-second clip that quickly circulated on X (formerly Twitter), showing a couple nonchalantly walking right in front of the camera, followed by another guest being ushered away by the photographer. While the identity of these photo bombers up in the air, their lack of awareness sparked outrage among fans

"walking and STOPPING in the middle in front of the cameras? what happened to manners? 😭😭" one person said.

"Oh that's so rude," pointed out another.

"Why are those old people walking like she wasn't there?" chimed in a third.

"Don't red carpets usually have a back route behind the step and repeat to avoid this situation? Or are these old guys just being deliberately rude?" asked another.

Despite the snafus, the Derry Girls alum kept her cool, flashing a smile for the camera. Her disco ball-style Prabal Gurung gown, complete with a structured corset and bubble-shaped peplum, stole the spotlight. She accessorized with a red Artists4Ceasefire pin and delicate De Beers jewelry.

After strutting her stuff on the red carpet, Coughlan had a starstruck moment she shared with Access Hollywood. "I went to get my photos taken, and then I looked to my left and Jennifer Aniston was standing right beside me," she exclaimed. "I heard her voice, and I gasped! I am normally quite okay, but I mean, she's Rachel [Green, from Friends]."

This year's ceremony comes hot on the heels of the 75th edition, which was held just this past January. Originally scheduled for September 2023, it was postponed due to the writers and actors strikes.
