Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing quite the stark change in lifestyle following his arrest on Monday, September 16.
Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, 54-year-old Diddy is swapping his luxurious meals for a far more basic menu in jail after he was denied bail and forced to stay at the detention center until his trial.
According to details about the culinary offerings available to inmates, which was obtained by InTouch and published on Wednesday, September 18, the options available are a significant downgrade from the lavish dining the hip-hop artist once enjoyed in his multiple mansions.
The outlet states that breakfast options are limited to fruit, cereal, breakfast cakes, and skim milk, with coffee available for those who need a caffeine fix. Lunch menus vary by day and may include scrambled eggs, chicken wraps, baked chicken, or beef tacos, accompanied by sides like coleslaw, rice, or green beans. Dinner offers a selection that includes chili mac, Salisbury steak, or chicken fried rice, while weekends bring a comforting cheese pizza with spinach.
In addition to the standard meals provided, inmates have the option to purchase various items from the detention center's commissary. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, available items include a Velveeta cheese block for $3.70, white tuna pouches for $3.45, and a pouch of Spam for just $1.50. For a little indulgence, they can opt for a jalapeño squeeze cheese at $3.35 and add seasonings and spices for an additional cost.
Inmates can also buy precooked rice, instant grits, or even a rib steak meal priced at $9.95. Snack options are plentiful, featuring granola bars, Chips Ahoy! cookies, unsalted peanuts, and sugar-free candy. Beverages are also available for purchase, including decaffeinated coffee for $3.55 and herbal tea for $3.55.
The Metropolitan Detention Center has a history of housing high-profile inmates, including R. Kelly, Fetty Wap, and Ghislaine Maxwell, and is known for its tough conditions. Diddy faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and kidnapping, with legal documents detailing accusations that he abused and coerced multiple women to fulfill his sexual desires over the years.
