Big Brother host Julie Chen is breaking down her thoughts on the new cast for the upcoming season this summer.

"I love all the houseguests," Chen admitted ahead of the season 26 premiere.

A "perfect" lineup of houseguests may be subjective, but Chen has an opinion on what it takes to cast a memorable season: "Diversity. Different ages, different ethnic backgrounds from different parts of the country—maybe different parts of the world," Chen shared in an interview for CBS.

Despite the differences between each contestant, Chen loves all the houseguests and challenges herself to see the good in each. She leaves room for houseguest redemption—even when viewers are against their mistakes.

For the 26th iteration of Big Brother, Chen expects viewers to return for high-stakes challenges, arising tensions and potential "showmances." Premiering each summer, romance is a make-or-break factor in the season's quality. Each year, Chen hopes the seasons remain fresh and exciting. While this season will introduce new spins on challenges, Chen confirms the classics audiences know and love—like a Slip and Slide—will bring back long-time fans.

New themes shape each season, and this year's is both timely and controversial. Big Brother is introducing artificial intelligence, or AI. Chen teases an original, Big Brother spin on the phenomenon, coining the term "BB AI."

According to a CBS press release, the #BBAI theme will "deliver the most unpredictable season" for awaiting houseguests.

As with each Big Brother season, events will unfold in a uniquely Big Brother-style—tension, competition and potential romances are sure to heat the house this summer.

Big Brother premieres on July 17 on CBS.
