Kourtney Kardashian's little girl is growing up.
The mother-of-four took to Instagram on Sunday, July 14 to share a glimpse at her daughter Penelope's 12th birthday. "12 years young 🎈🌴🎡☀️🌊💘," Kourtney wrote, alongside a video set to the tune of "La Vie en Rose."
The video begins with a beautiful birthday cake covered in large pink flowers and, of course, 12 candles. It also showed what looked to be a cookie decorating station, with blue icing and beach-themed sugar cookies. Then you can see the pre-teens enjoying themselves in the ocean, while Kourtney looked on from the beach.
In a clip that showed the kids walking to the beach, you could see that Penelope was joined on her special day by best friend and cousin, North West. Her mom, Kim Kardashian, did not seem to be in attendance, because the SKIMS founder has been in India for the multi-million dollar wedding of billionaire heir Anat Ambani.
Kourtney created quite the setup for the party, with baby pink fringed umbrellas for each kid, along with matching pink loungers, and white and pink striped beach towels. Per the video, it looked like a beautiful, sunny day for a beach bash, which even included a ride on a ferris wheel.
Fans praised Kourtney in the Instagram comments for throwing what seemed to be an age-appropriate celebration. "Kids being kids which I love seeing!" one Instagram user wrote. Another commented, "I want a birthday party just like that, couldn't be more perfect!"
Kourtney shares daughter Penelope with ex Scott Disick, with whom she also shares sons Mason, 14, and Reign, 9. She and husband Travis Barker welcomed their first child together, a son named Rocky, in November 2023. Barker commented on Kourtney's Instagram video, writing, "Happy Birthday Penelope 🥳🥳🥳."
On Penelope's actual birthday, July 8, Disick took to Instagram to share a photo of himself holding his daughter, along with the caption, "Happy birthday 2 my little girl who isn't that little anymore. Words could never describe how much u mean 2 me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."
