Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany recently shared that they're expecting their third child together.
The family planning talk continued, though, when Patrick spoke at a Chiefs press conference on Tuesday, July 16. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback seemed thrilled for the family's upcoming addition, but admitted they wouldn't be expecting any more kids after that.
When Patrick was asked how he plans to manage business with three kids, he jokingly responded, "I'm done. I'll say that." The soon-to-be father-of-three continued, "I said three, and I'm done." The couple already share daughter Sterling Skye, whom they welcomed in February 2021, and son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, who was born in November 2022.
Though he has a hard stop at three, the 2024 Super Bowl champion did say how "awesome" it is being a father. "I always wanted to have kids young. I got to grow up in the locker room, I think I've talked about it before," said Patrick, whose father is former MLB pitcher Patrick Lavon Mahomes. "It made such an impact in my life, so I wanted to have kids young."
He also praised his wife, saying she "does a great job," being both a wife and a mother. "We still go out and enjoy our life, and let our kids see great things," Patrick said, noting that because he is so busy during football season, he likes to have a great time when he does get to be with his family.
For example, the family - who were seen at a number of Eras Tour performances this summer - recently spent time traveling Europe together. In fact, when the family left London, Brittany couldn't help but make a Taylor Swift reference in her farewell post.
On July 9, Brittany shared a photo of a London street, along with the caption, "So long, London," which is one of the songs from Swifts' record-breaking album, The Tortured Poets Department. She also shared a sweet photo of a double date with herself, Patrick, Swift, and Travis Kelce.
Brittany and Patrick were high school sweethearts who met while attending Whitehouse High School in Texas. The NFL star proposed to his now-wife at Arrowhead Stadium on her 25th birthday, September 1, 2020. He and Brittany tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii in 2022.
